In this latest issue of Building Broadband, we’re tracking new broadband deployments from Comcast, Fidium, GoNetspeed, Greenlight Networks, Spectrum, TDS Telecom and Wyyered.

Comcast, Fidium, GoNetspeed, Greenlight Networks, Spectrum, TDS Telecom and Wyyered are using various funding sources to expand broadband access to more communities.

Comcast deepens New Jersey broadband presence with Greater Phillipsburg expansion
Comcast has launched an expansion across the Greater Phillipsburg area, with the overall project now more than halfway complete as the company works to bring its reliable, high-speed Internet network to more than 15,700 additional homes and businesses for the first time. Momentum across Warren County remains strong with construction in Greenwich, Lopatcong and Alpha nearing completion. Half of the planned work in Phillipsburg is now complete, and Pohatcong efforts are ramping up. This network expansion is part of Comcast’s latest investment in New Jersey. In the last year alone, Comcast has connected an additional 43,000 homes and businesses in the Garden State to Xfinity and Comcast Business services.

Fidium brings all-fiber internet access to Curtisville, PA
Fidium has expanded its all‑fiber internet service in Curtisville, bringing new fiber‑to‑the‑home (FTTH) access to more than 2,400 residents and businesses. The service provider’s representatives will be visiting the community over the coming weeks to share more information about service options and availability, participate in local events, and stop by individual homes and businesses with fiber access.

GoNetspeed opens new broadband chapter for Beverly, Mass
GoNetspeed has named Beverly, which will officially become the next Massachusetts community to gain access to its fiber network. Through a privately funded $17.5 million investment, GoNetspeed’s expansion will deliver symmetrical multi-gigabit Internet speeds of up to 6 Gbps to more than 10,500 homes and businesses across the community. Momentum continues to build for GoNetspeed in Massachusetts, with Beverly recently joining the expansion plans for Salem and Quincy. GoNetspeed continues to expand its high-speed fiber network, bringing greater provider choice to more communities while strengthening its planned footprint across Massachusetts. Upon completion, Beverly will join Amherst, Easthampton, Granby, Ludlow, Springfield, and other Massachusetts communities already connected or preparing for service, including Salem and Quincy.

Greenlight Networks completes acquisition of FastBridge Fiber, expanding Pennsylvania and New York reach
Greenlight Networks has completed its acquisition of FastBridge Fiber, a Reading, Pennsylvania-based fiber internet provider. The transaction, initially announced on November 3, 2025, builds upon Greenlight’s broader northeast growth strategy, particularly in communities located throughout Northeast and South-Central Pennsylvania, and Western New York. FastBridge Fiber serves customers in Buffalo, New York, and several Pennsylvania communities, including Berks County, Bloomsburg, Danville, Williamsport, Erie, and Hazleton. The acquisition adds more than 65,000 household passings to Greenlight’s existing footprint in those areas, with tens of thousands more expected by year-end, with construction efforts already underway. This deal significantly expands the company’s workforce, with 120 FastBridge team members joining Greenlight’s 250 employees, bringing the total to approximately 370.

Spectrum expands rural broadband access in Kent County, Michigan
Spectrum is making fiber broadband network services available to more than 850 additional homes and businesses in previously unserved or underserved areas of Kent County, Michigan, including in the townships of Courtland, Oakfield, Sparta, Spencer and Tyrone. The cable MSO’s multi-year rural construction initiative is driven by more than $7 billion in private investment from Spectrum. It will ultimately add 100,000 miles of fiber network infrastructure and deliver symmetrical, multi-gigabit speeds to more than 1.7 million new locations across the country. The expansion was funded in part by a Realizing Opportunity with Broadband Infrastructure Networks (ROBIN) Broadband Grant, a joint effort between Spectrum and the Michigan High-Speed Internet Office (MIHI) to deliver high-speed internet to unserved communities. This project is supported, in part, by federal award number CPFFN0190 awarded to the State of Michigan by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

TDS donates two years of internet service to Albany, Wisconsin’s Albertson Memorial Library
TDS Telecommunications donates two years of high-speed internet service to Albertson Memorial Library in Albany, Wisconsin, helping the library expand reliable online access to residents who depend on it. TDS broke ground in mid-2025 on a multi-year network upgrade project to bring at least 100 Mbps and up to 1 Gig internet service to addresses in the company’s Albany-area footprint. The telco is receiving support from the FCC’s Enhanced Alternative Connect America Cost Model (E-ACAM) program to help fund the work. E-ACAM provides funding to deploy and support 100/20 Mbps or faster broadband service to some of TDS’s most rural geographies. The company is also investing private dollars to deliver faster speeds to additional addresses in the area.

Wyyerd Fiber lights fiber broadband for the Avondale, AZ community
Wyyerd Fiber's fiber internet service is now available to residents and businesses in Avondale, Arizona. This expansion marks another milestone in Wyyerd’s continued expansion across Arizona’s West Valley and the Greater Phoenix Area, bringing fast internet speeds in the state. Wyyerd’s continued investment reflects its commitment to expanding access to reliable, future-ready connectivity across growing communities.
