Source Photonics: High output power 50G PON OLT/ONU platforms

Source Photonics' high-output-power EML+SOA integrated Chipset for 50G PON OLT/ONU platforms.

Source Photonics is making a name for itself in the 50G PON market with its small form factor, tri-mode 50G PON OLT SFP-DD optical transceiver. The platform supports downstream optical bandwidth of up to 50G NRZ signals and upstream optical/electrical interface line rates of up to 25G for burst reception, as well as XGS-PON/50G dual-mode and GPON/XG(S)-PON/50G-PON tri-mode coexistence. As a key enabler, Source Photonics has developed an integrated SOA high-power 50G 1342nm EML chip, which is first applied to the 50G PON OLT SFP-DD class C+ optical module product; the product supports industrial-grade temperatures with a high link budget of C+ of as high as 35dB to cover or be compatible with existing ODN networks in harsh telecommunication environments.

Judge’s comment: “The integrated chipset will be an important component in large-scale, cost-effective 50G PON deployments.”
