Source Photonics: 1.6T IMDD retimed & LPO optics transceivers based on InP PIC

Source Photonics 1.6T IMDD retimed and LPO optics transceivers use 200G/lane multi-channel monolithic InP PIC technology.

Source Photonics’ 1.6T DR8 and 2xFR4 transceivers feature data center-optimized optics and monolithically integrated multi-channel InP-based PICs with DFB lasers and MZM modulators. With a low driving voltage of ~1Vpp and a high bandwidth of ~100GHz, this solution has the potential to deliver low power consumption for a 1.6Tbps optical transceiver, with best-in-class performance for both linear direct-drive (LPO) and retimed optics. As a future-proof technology, this technology also paves the way for next-generation 400Gb/s per-lane IMDD connectivity. LightCouning predicts 1.6T ports will reach over 74M with 65% for retimed optics and 27% for LPO optics by 2030, while 3.2T ports will reach ~43M by 2030.

Judge’s comment: “Source Photonics' 1.6T IMDD retimed, and LPO transceivers will help provide low power and lower-cost solutions for DC scale-out switching at 1.6T per port, and future 3.2T ports.”
