Optical time-domain reflectometer

The Model ofm1020 Avionics otdr is a picosecond/zero-deadzone instrument for aerospace fiber-optic measurements and troubleshooting. The unit operates at a single wavelength with singlemode or multimode fiber output and has a dynamic range of more than 90 dB. The device is capable of interpreting Fresnel reflection or Rayleigh back-scattering signals. A real-time display troubleshoots intermittent faults in the optical circuit. In Map & Test mode, the reflectometer is a single-button fiber-optic autotester of aircraft point-to-point links, as well as star or ring networks. The otdr can be used at temperatures from -20 to +35C. This 14 ¥ 18 ¥ 8-inch unit weighs 22 lb and is priced from $54,500.
