Optical Corporation of America (oca), Marlborough, MA, has signed a $7.8 million contract with mci Communications Corp. This is largest order to date of oca`s 4-channel dense wavelength-division multiplexer (dwdm). Known as a Quad dwdm, the device was first purchased by mci in early 1996 and subsequently deployed to quadruple capacity on portions of mci`s fiber-optic network.
