Fiber-optic attenuator

A variable fiber-optic attenuator has a stepper motor drive and antibacklash reduction gearing. The unit has 10,000 steps for 0.01-dB resolution and is available as an oem unit or stand-alone instrument with an integrated microprocessor and lcd display. The oem version can be connected to a PC via a serial interface. Wavelengths from 440- to 1550-nm for singlemode fiber are available.
