Stacking system

The fss-2000 Frequency Stacking System increases broadband-return capacity to four times that of conventional systems. Broadband operators can expand capacity using the NL StarGate 2000 node without expanding in size or conducting a major rebuild of field equipment. The system includes a four-band block upconverter and a return-path transmitter, and a clock conversion optical receiver and a downconverter. These elements enable the 5- to 42-MHz RF signals that are carried upstream to the node on four independent coaxial-cable lines to be kept separate in different frequency bands when they are transmitted back to the headend on a single optical fiber.
