100BaseT/F media converter
The Series 377 media converters provide operation of long-reach singlemode fiber circuits over distances to 100 km. The converters are designed to convert Ethernet 100Base-T signals to light pulses appropriate for singlemode, duplex optical-fiber transmission. The signaling uses duplex communication to eliminate the response problem in collision sensing. LED indicators display the status of the fiber and copper circuits as well as power. Model 377SC offers 100Base-T compatibility and 100-Mbit/sec full-duplex over singlemode fiber at 1300 nm. It employs a Fabry-Perot laser with full IEC 825 and CDRH Class 1 eye safety. It provides operation over 35 km using SC connectors. The model 377ST-1 offers the same functionality, but allows operation over distances of 100 km of singlemode fiber using ST connectors.
