Copper-to-singlemode extender

The mdb-9-2 is a copper-to-singlemode fiber-optic extender for Fibre Channel and other applications. The system is an integrated duplex data link for bidirectional communications over singlemode fiber. It is designed to connect electrical high-speed data-communications links that require the extended-distance performance of optical fiber. The limit for a copper Fibre Channel connection can be extended to 500 m over 50-micron multimode fiber or more than 20 km over singlemode fiber at the data-transfer rate of 1.0625 Gbits/sec. The device features an SC duplex connector, and an epoxy encapsulation provides protection from environmental hazards and assists in head dissipation for all components.
