dwdm add/drop fiber amplifier

The 1925 ofa erbium-doped fiber amplifier achieves gain in excess of 28 dB, while limiting gain excursion to <1 dB (typical) over the entire wavelength range. The device yields typical noise figures <4.5 dB for the 14-dBm basic unit. The product offers a 9-dB mid-amplifier loss port to allow for dispersion compensation, and can also be used for add/drop multiplexing functions. The system can be applied as a power booster for dwdm systems, an optical add/drop multiplexer, or a low-noise inline amplifier for transport systems.
