Digital fiber-optic transmission device

The MegaLink 1360 transports smpte 259M serial digital video interface at the D1/D5 tape format speeds of 270 or 360 Mbits/sec, which are required for full-bandwidth standard definition television or mezzanine-level high-definition television. The system supports single- and multichannel operation. In a multichannel environment, it uses dwdm to optically multiplex up to nine transmission links over a single fiber, and each link can operate at a different speed. The device is available in three configurations: transmitter, receiver, or transceiver. Applications include studio-to-transmitter links, transmitter-to-studio links, inter-facility connections, and metropolitan switched digital video networks.
