March 4, 2003--Optical Systems Design announces the availability of its OSD290 FM-FDM multiplexer for real-time transmission of four video signals over multimode or singlemode optical fiber cables.

The system can be supplied with a variety of optical devices, which allow it to operate over 3 to 5 km of multimode fiber and up to 150 km of singlemode fiber.

The unit is a simplified and smaller version of the OSD390 video/audio/data multiplexer and is available as a standalone module or a card that plugs into the OSD370 chassis. The product is comparable in cost to four individual single channel links, in terms of hardwave.
