3 September 2003 Boonton, NJ Lightwave--Johanson Fiber Optics Group, LLC is shipping VAC-PAK, a modular rack-mount attenuator enclosure that allows up to 16 singlemode fiberoptic channels in 4-channel increments to be individually attenuated from 1-30 dB. This product is specifically designed for deployment of CWDM and DWDM systems where multiple wavelength channels need to be separately attenuated. Attenuation adjustment is simple with a screwdriver on the front face next to each port.

Johanson's patented air-gap technology provides 0.1 dB resolution over any wavelength from 1200 to 1600 nm. The slim 19-inch 1U enclosure's input and output ports are available with any standard or small-form-factor connector interface, including FC, LC, ST, MU, MTRJ or MTP.
