Siemens extends Telecom Italia's broadband network with E-series edge routers from Juniper Networks
3 December 2003 Munich Lightwave--Telecom Italia has awarded Siemens Information and Communication Networks an order to install and integrate Juniper Networks routing platforms into its broadband network. Telecom Italia will deploy Juniper Networks E-series Broadband Remote Access Server (BRAS) platforms for the delivery of interactive services over its broadband infrastructure.
The E-series routing platforms will enable Telecom Italia to scale its broadband infrastructure for future growth and to increase its broadband access market penetration with both business and residential customers.
Telecom Italia has also started the integration process of the T-series routers in its backbone network. M-series routing platforms are already being used for Telecom Italia's internal network. The M- and T-series routing platforms at the edge and core of the Telecom Italia IP infrastructure are being deployed to support connectivity for Telecom Italia's corporate customers.
