Ando Corporation announced the interoperability between its new IP Core Network Probe with two leading-edge solutions from Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA): Unicenter TNG for complete eBusiness management and the standalone NetworkIT for network management. This interoperability will allow IP carriers and providers, for the first time, to monitor, collect and report on data flowing at the core of Packet-over-SONET (POS) networks at wire speed up to OC-48c (2.5Gbit/s).

"Although Ando's probe can collect detailed traffic information that is otherwise not available at the IP core, it is just one piece of the network management solution. When used to enhance solutions such as NetworkIT and Unicenter TNG, the probe enables IP carriers and providers to overcome the obstacles that have prevented them from effectively managing their networks, such as high speeds and large volumes of data," says Hiro Sato, general manager of Ando Corporation's IP Products Division.

In addition to standard functionality offered by RMON2 and SNMP, Ando's IP Core Network Probe will support statistics' collection of Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) and DiffServ parameters. By providing this enhanced traffic information, the IP Core Network Probe will help IP carriers make critical bandwidth and routing decisions. Unicenter TNG and NetworkIT provide quality of service, service level management, and applications and network level monitoring-all of which rely on the type of information provided by Ando's Probe to assist IP carriers in making critical diagnostic and planning decisions. CA is exploring further integration of Ando and CA solutions.
