Kestrel Solutions, Inc. has been awarded a master purchase contract by an unnamed Regional Bell Operating Company (RBOC) for Kestrel's optical transport products, the TalonMX family. Kestrel is currently shipping product to the RBOC under this agreement.
Under the terms of the deal, Kestrel is providing TalonMX products for key applications across the RBOC's network, as well as Kestrel's Element Management System (EMS) for centralized control of the network. In order to obtain this contract, Kestrel was required to meet technical criteria, including Operations Systems Modifications for the Integration of Network Elements (OSMINE) certification. OSMINE is an industry-wide standard that must be met in order to be considered for deployment in large public networks.
Kestrel's flagship product family, the TalonMX, provides flexible transport network elements that increase the capacity of existing fiber networks. The Talon product family enables metropolitan telecommunications service providers to send up to 10 Gigabits per second (Gbps) of bandwidth over a single fiber at significant cost savings over the projected cost of alternative technologies.
