HD FiberSystems has announced its 4- and 8-channel coarse wavelength-division multiplexer (CWDM) modules based on thin-film-filter technology. The CWDM modules feature low insertion loss and polarization dependent loss (PDL).

HD FiberSystems has announced its 4- and 8-channel coarse wavelength-division multiplexer (CWDM) modules based on thin-film-filter technology. The CWDM modules feature low insertion loss and polarization dependent loss (PDL).

The company quotes insertion loss of less than 2.5 dB for the 4-channel device and less than 3.5 dB for the 8-channel version. The modules also provide of high center wavelength accuracy and high adjacent band isolation characteristics, according to the company. Both modules are packed in a 140 x 105 x 8 mm form factor.

HD FiberSystems (www.hdsystems.com) was established in September 2000 as a subsidiary of HD Systems, Inc. It delivers DWDM devices, modules, and rack integration. Its product line now includes band separator, OADM, and CWDM devices. The company plans to introduce its EDFA and optical switches by 3Q 2001.
