LuxN, Time Warner Telecom sign agreement to provide metro optical infrastructure
LuxN, Inc. and Time Warner Telecom Inc. (Nasdaq:TWTC) announced a multi-year contract for Time Warner Telecom to purchase LuxN's WavSystem optical dense wave division-multiplexing (DWDM) equipment. Time Warner Telecom, a provider of metro area optical broadband networks and high-bandwidth transport services has chosen LuxN's WavSystem to provide metro DWDM services in markets across the United States. Time Warner Telecom has already begun deployment of LuxN equipment in New York City and Columbus, Ohio.

The equipment may be used in Time Warner Telecom's network to provide fiber relief through the use of DWDM.
The LuxN WavSystem family of products allows carriers to quickly and cost effectively aggregate up to 16 channels of traffic over a single fiber pair, in addition to delivering new data services directly to enterprise customers. The WavSystem supports both modern and legacy services, including Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel, ATM, SONET OC-3/12/48,UT1 and 10/100-Base-TEEthernet. It allows for expansion of the broadband enterprise LAN, SAN or WAN (networks) while integrating into the global data communications network.
