Phoenix NAP, a next-generation data center and network access point, has deployed packet-optical offerings from Cyan to interconnect the company’s 90,000-square foot colocation facility with a second data center in the Phoenix area over a dark fiber infrastructure.

To bring more carrier connectivity alternatives into the facility in 2011, Phoenix NAP required scalable and resilient packet-optical, interconnectivity with a second data center in the Phoenix area. Phoenix NAP selected Cyan's Z-Series packet-optical transport platform (P-OTP) and multilayer software systems to provide a highly-scalable, low-latency network for transporting customer traffic between the two sites in a fault-tolerant ring configuration, using diverse fiber paths.

Phoenix NAP selected Cyan's Z-Series platform for its versatile architecture, which economically supports Ethernet, DWDM, and wavelength selectable switching for ultra low latency 10 Gigabit Ethernet transport, as well as the ability of Cyan's multi-layer software to more efficiently plan, manage, and verify networks.
