Hibernia Atlantic adds Tokyo to Global Financial Network

Transatlantic undersea fiber-optic network operator Hibernia Atlantic has extended its Global Financial Network (GFN) to the Pacific Rim. The GFN now offers what Hibernia Atlantic asserts are the lowest latency routes to Tokyo.

Undersea fiber-optic network operator Hibernia Atlantic has extended its Global Financial Network (GFN) to the Pacific Rim. The GFN now offers what Hibernia Atlantic asserts are the lowest latency routes to Tokyo.

Hibernia Atlantic pegs latency on the route between Chicago and Tokyo at 127.5 ms round trip.

The link to Tokyo is now available, and Hibernia Atlantic expects to open routes on the GFN to Hong Kong and Singapore soon. Once on-net, Hibernia Atlantic will guarantee five-day turn-up, from signature to service.

With over 120 points of presence, Hibernia GFN is built upon 24,000 km of fiber-optic cable.
