OCTOBER 29, 2009 -- Live 40-Gbps traffic is being carried over a commercial U.S. network created by a Fujitsu FLASHWAVE 7500 ROADM that now incorporates Mintera's new MI 4000XM Adaptive-DPSK module.

OCTOBER 29, 2009 -- Mintera Corp., a provider of optical transport systems, has announced that live 40-Gbps traffic is being carried over a commercial U.S. network created by a Fujitsu FLASHWAVE 7500 reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer (ROADM) that now incorporates Mintera's new MI 4000XM Adaptive-DPSK module.

"Mintera's close and fruitful collaboration with Fujitsu has resulted in achievement of this key milestone," says Terry Unter, Mintera president and chief executive officer. "Mintera is committed to provide the highest level of service and support to customers such as Fujitsu and to continue to deliver best-in-class solutions."

The patent-pending Adaptive-DPSK technology incorporated in the MI 4000XM DWDM module enables 40-Gbps transport on 5-GHz channel-spaced systems and transmission over agile ROADM networks without compromising critical ULH reach. The unit conforms to the industry standard footprint and incorporates an electrical multiplexer/demultiplexer for compatibility with any 40-Gbps framer. The module has a 300-pin MSA connector with support for the appropriate I2C commands, enabling simple hardware and software integration.

"2009 has been an outstanding year for the company including achievement of full GR-468 qualification in February, a transition to volume production with over 2,500 units now shipped and becoming ISO 9001:2008 certified in August," says Niall Robinson, Mintera's vice president of product marketing.
