OCTOBER 30, 2009 -- The robust Texas fiber network offers real-time replication and reliable bandwidth for mission-critical applications.

OCTOBER 30, 2009 -- announced Atos Origin has selected optical services provider FiberLight for a new core data center optical ring. The 10-Gigabit network offers scalability and diversity to ensure maximum uptime between multiple locations in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

FiberLight was reportedly selected as the logical network design solution because the company offers 3,900 route miles of interconnected metro networks throughout Texas. The city of Dallas is part of FiberLight’s growing Texas network encompassing Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christie, Waco, McAllen, and Laredo.

"Atos Origin needed ultrareliable bandwidth to ensure customer data and mission-critical applications could be transported seamlessly between the company's key sites," says Ron Kormos, FiberLight's executive vice president of operations and engineering. "With FiberLight's LightSource network platform, we were able to guarantee the reliability Atos requires in support of their clients."

Atos Origin says it chose to partner with FiberLight because of the Atlanta-based company's reputation for delivering customized, protected network technologies utilizing 24/7 monitoring capability and redundant NOCs. FiberLight's extensive metro footprint in Texas provides Atos Origin with access to additional fiber assets in its target metro markets while offering security and continuity to its diverse customer base.

"We were impressed with the scalable network solution FiberLight offered as well as its ability to perform beyond standard SLAs [service-level agreements], while offering us the stability and dependability of our own private network at a reasonable price," notes Mark Cyran, vice president of managed operations, Atos Origin North America. "Using FiberLight, we are able to provide a best-in-class high bandwidth solution to our customers while leveraging FiberLight's extensive metro assets."
