Sweden's Ericsson boosts broadband access capability for Denmark's Telia

May 1, 2002

Telia Networks Denmark has awarded Ericsson a multi-service network contract for end-to-end broadband access, complementing Telia's existing Engine network.

In a three-year frame agreement, the contract covers delivery of Engine Access Ramp with PSTN and ADSL, modems and extensions. The broadband access solution will enable Telia Denmark to boost capacity and quality of services.

Sören Stövring-Hallsson, managing director at Telia Denmark, said, "Ericsson's solution will make us a complete operator in the Danish telecom market."

Karl Thedeen, of Ericsson Nordic & Baltics added: "This confirms Ericsson's leadership in the multi-service networks market."

  • Ericsson's Annual General Meeting in March elected Peter Bonfield, Lena Torell and Michael Treschow as new board directors. Michael Treschow was elected chairman, and Tom Hedelius and Marcus Wallenberg vice chairmen.
