DECEMBER 16, 2010 -- MRV Communications, Inc. says that Luxembourg Telecom has elected to expand its nationwide data center services over a scalable and reliable low-latency fiber optic network using MRV WDM and optical transport and Carrier Ethernet equipment.

Earlier this year, MRV announced that Luxembourg telecom had selected MRV’s LambdaDriver WDM and optical transport system to build a high-speed fiber-optic ring network to connect all of its data centers in Luxembourg (see "Luxembourg Telecom selects MRV LambdaDriver for data center WDM network").

Luxembourg Telecom is the country’s first provider of countrywide data center interconnect services at speeds up to 10 Gbps, MRV says. The services leverage MRV’s LambdaDriver as well as MRV’s OptiSwitch Carrier Ethernet system.

Interdata, a wholly owned subsidiary of MRV located in Paris, serves as a strategic partner for Luxembourg Telecom, and helped the company integrate the nationwide project.
