OCTOBER 4, 2010 -- AboveNet Inc., a provider of high-bandwidth connectivity systems, is focused on enabling law firms to connect to business hubs and clients in the U.S. and European metro markets over secure, private, fiber-optic networks. AboveNet is offering custom MAN (metro area network) and WAN (wide area network) services to meet law firms’ needs.

AboveNet's customers include legal firms who provide services to the world's largest corporations, banks, and accounting firms. Their networks must handle data-intensive applications including high-bandwidth video and media transfers, virtualization for larger transport links, data replication, and disaster recovery.

To meet these demands, AboveNet provides up to 10 Gigabits per second of Ethernet connectivity over a diverse fiber-optic network. Customers receive high-bandwidth connectivity on a dedicated, private network, as well as guaranteed availability for all data communications, reserved bandwidth availability, and an infrastructure that can scale to meet growing business demands.

"Law firms must have a dedicated, private, and secure network to connect with clients and partners to exchange critical information," says John "Joc" Jacquay, senior vice president of sales and marketing for AboveNet. "A shared network with unknown levels of security may put them at risk of a breach in security."

Speed and efficiency of the network is also critical for firms with attorneys and personnel spread across international locations.
