OCTOBER 11, 2010 -- Infinera Submarine Solutions (Nasdaq: INFN) says it will highlight new features and capabilities of its submarine line terminating equipment (SLTE) at Submarine Networks World 2010 this week.

Infinera expanded into the submarine cable systems market by adding features to its DTN platform to enable it to be deployed as an SLTE (see “Infinera enters submarine market with new product, Global Crossing deployment”). Infinera says its Submarine Solutions have been deployed worldwide for multiple customers for a total of more than 85,000 route-km, including routes across the Atlantic; between North, Central, and South America; in the Middle East; and in the Indian Ocean.

At the show, Infinera will discuss several enhancements to the SLTE system that come with Release 6 of the DTN, the IQ Network Operating System, and the DNA network management system. The new features include new client interfaces to support OTN services on a submarine network, and simplified management of multi-vendor networks via the Infinera Management Suite.

In addition, the SLTEs are compatible with the 40-Gbps line cards Infinera plans to deliver in 2011.
