FEBRUARY 1, 2010 -- Sunrise Telecom Inc., maker of test and measurement solutions for telecom, wireless, and cable networks, announced that Telenet, Belgium’s largest MSO, has standardized on Sunrise Telecom’s CM2800E for its cable services field technicians.
“Our choice was largely based on technical merits, ease-of-use and compatibility with the existing headend and hub equipment deployed in the network,” says Mark Kerstens, lab manager from Telenet.
“Providing complex services, such as higher quality digital video (HD), higher speed data services, VoIP services and video on demand services, elicited a need to upgrade our network and our test tools with advanced functionalities,” explains Dirk Speybroeck, Telenet’s vice president of service assurance. “The CM2800E will play a vital role in further increasing the reliability of service to our customers.”
Sunrise Telecom’s CM2800E combines non-intrusive, high-resolution sweep and triple play services, including video, cable modem, and VoIP analysis in one easy-to-use, full-featured instrument. The CM2800E’s familiar Windows CE platform user interface helps technicians simplify and speed diagnosis of the network, increasing productivity and efficiency in the field.
“With rapidly evolving technologies being deployed in CATV networks, the CM2800E with its unique DSP technology implementation will allow our customers, including Telenet, to maintain their technological edge. The CM2800E increases quality of service and technicians’ effectiveness in the field, ultimately resulting in better customer satisfaction,” says My Chung, Sunrise Telecom senior vice president of global sales.
Sunrise Telecom worked with its distributor Heynen to standardize Telenet on the new CM2800E.
The CM2800E is immediately available from Sunrise Telecom and supports DOCSIS/EuroDOCSIS and Annex A, B, and C.
