APRIL 5, 2007 -- Mintera Corp. (search for Mintera) today announced its flagship product, the MI 40000XS, is shipping to customers in the North America and EMEA regions. The MI 40000XS 40-Gbit/sec DWDM transport subsystem is already shipping to customers in the Asia Pacific region.

The new platform delivers what the company claims is an industry-leading transmission reach compared to other commercial products. The combination of the product's patent-pending spectrally efficient modulation format and built-in adaptive dispersion mitigation technology, which delivers market-leading chromatic and polarization dispersion tolerances, makes 40 Gbits/sec as easy to deploy as 10 Gbits/sec, claims the company. The design of the MI 40000XS platform is based upon the emerging AdvancedTCA300 industry standard.

To support the company's growing sales, Mintera also announced the appointment of Bryan Hall as senior vice president, worldwide sales. Hall's sales experience includes more than 20 years in the carrie-class equipment space with a number of companies, including AstralPoint (acquired by Alcatel), Pirelli Systems (acquired by Cisco), Hitachi Telecom, and DSC Communications (acquired by Alcatel).

"With 40-Gbit/sec deployments expanding across the globe, I'm excited to have the opportunity to help Mintera grow," says Hall.
