June 29, 2004 Stockholm--I.NET SpA, an application infrastructure provider, is purchasing Lumentis' carrier-class CWDM system for its Milan network. The I.NET Group is a subsidiary of BT Group Plc.

By deploying Lumentis' CWDM equipment, I.NET will have a scaleable transmission platform, which can support CWDM, DWDM and SDH solutions and any client interface such as STM-1, Gigabit Ethernet, and Fibre Channel, at transport speeds of up to 10 Gbits/sec. The Lumentis all-in-one platform enables the elimination of optical amplifiers without sacrificing network utilization and scalability.

"We selected the Lumentis platform due to their unique xWDM platform, which gives clear cost advantages today without compromising any future upgrading possibilities," said Alessandro Zanetti, management operations vice manager, I.NET SpA.
