Fore Systems Inc. (Pittsburgh, PA) announced that several of its ForeRunner ASX-4000 ATM switches have been deployed at the core of Microsoft Corp.`s (Redmond, WA) fiber-based enterprise campus network. This is the second collaboration between the two companies. In September 1997, Fore teamed with GTE (Dallas, TX) to provide Microsoft`s ATM backbone and related services as part of the company`s campus-wide enterprise network upgrade. Fore also announced a partnership with Osicom Technologies Inc. (Santa Monica, CA) to deliver metropolitan and regional high-speed optical network solutions using ATM directly over optical add/drop DWDM systems.
