Distributed-feedback laser transmitter

The Model 55TA distributed-feedback laser transmitter serves both Sonet OC-48 and SDH STM-16 ap pli cations. It is optically isolated for dense WDM at 1550 nm and wavelength stabilized via a tightly controlled thermoelectric cooler circuit. The de vice is also available with a 1310-nm DFB laser. The transmitter suits path lengths of up to or greater than 75 km with standard singlemode fiber-optic cable. Operating temperature is 0° to +65°C. Standard 55TA modules are specified for 2-dB maximum optical path penalty through 1200 psec/nm of dispersion. A low chirp option is available for higher dispersion paths to 1800 psec/nm.
