Dense wdm

The 4-channel dense wdm lets telecommunications carriers increase the capacity of their existing fiber plant. The multiplexer uses fused biconic taper technology and fiber Bragg gratings, which provide low insertion loss and high wavelength isolation. The unit multiplexes closely spaced 1550-nm wavelength channels onto a single fiber and then demultiplexes from a single fiber. It conforms to itu-proposed standards to provide up to 32 channels.
