Enhancements to otdr and mini-otdr

Enhancements to the HP otdr and mini-otdr include optional modules for testing at 1625 nm, a software toolkit, 20 Mbytes of mass storage, and a rack otdr. The package allows users to check fiber for optical supervisory channel capability, particularly in wdm systems. Users can test fiber at the same time that data is transmitted (at 1310- or 1550-nm wavelengths). HP E6090A software for the HP otdr, HP mini-otdr, and HP rack otdr helps engineers post-process measurement data. Three rack models are available--HP E6053A, HP E6058A, and HP E6060A--each with different wavelength specifications. The 1625-nm modules for the otdr and mini-otdr cost $19,950 and $17,955, respectively. The rack model is priced from $11,550 to $22,050, and the software costs $987.
