Oct. 29, 2001--Circadiant Systems Inc. has introduced its product family of A3300 Optical Standards Testers, purpose-built, intelligent testing systems designed to enable optical equipment and component makers to reduce development and manufacturing costs, while accelerating their time-to-market. The first product, the A3303 2.5-Gbit/sec Optical Standards Tester, is available now.
Circadiant has combined various instruments needed for layers 1, 2 and 3 testing in a single box. Through consolidation and automation of micro-optics and statistical analysis, standards measurements such as optical receiver sensitivity can be measured with confidence and accuracy in less time without the need for test system programming or specialized test knowledge, asserts the company. The modular architecture of the A3300 is intended to provide optical equipment and component vendors with investment protection by giving them a migration path to new rates and technologies as requirements change.
According to the company, the A3303 2.5-Gbits/sec Optical Standards Tester also provides the following features: traffic generation and detection for PRBS, SONET/SDH, PoS and ATM; real-world optical conditions with configurable optical noise level, extinction ratio, power, wavelength, and frequency offset; automated standard transmitter/receiver tests; patent-pending intelligent diagnostic techniques for root cause failure analysis; and a scalable platform for multi-channel testing.
Pricing for the 2.5-Gbits/sec unit starts at $90,000.
