The N3970A handheld optical-power meter has overall accuracy of 3% and no need for a warm-up period. It measures 1310- and 1550-nm signals and stores the results in one of 845 flexible memory positions. It has three interchangeable push-pull adapters for the connectors and 240-h battery life. It can automate loss-testing functions and provide automatic wavelength identification.
