JULY 16, 2007 -- MRV Communications Inc. (search for MRV) has signed a distribution agreement with Graybar (search for Graybar) that will cover its complete product line.

The companies say MRV chose Graybar due to its focus and expertise in the communications and data marketplace and in key vertical markets, including service providers; healthcare; finance; state, local, and federal government; and networking technology manufacturing. Graybar will provide the entire MRV product line to its North American client base. These products include MRV's LambdaDriver WDM systems, Fiber Driver media converters, Media Cross Connect physical layer testing devices, OptiSwitch Metro Ethernet access switches, and LX-Series console servers.

"We are proud of our partnership with Graybar," said Noam Lotan, president and CEO of MRV. "Graybar is a market leader in telecom, enterprise, and data center solutions known for matching customer needs with creative solutions, and having them support and sell our optical, enterprise, and telecom systems enables us to provide our top quality solutions to a broader customer base."

"We pride ourselves on working to our customers' advantage," said Mike Dumas, vice president, comm/data business for Graybar. "When we can provide complete solutions including the line of comprehensive products MRV offers, we are delivering the extra value our customers demand and deserve. Whether our customers are building new networks or upgrading existing ones, our highly trained service provider teams throughout North America leverage our product knowledge, supply chain management, and logistics capabilities to help implement any size project as efficiently and cost effectively as possible."

MRV's optical product lines include the LambdaDriver family of modular WDM systems that can create up to 80 independent virtual fiber-optic links over a single pair of fibers over distances of up to 900 km. The Fiber Driver product line provides a range of services demarcation, media conversion, signal repeating, and fiber-optimization products, including coarse and dense WDM capabilities. For optical crossconnect capabilities in enterprise and test labs, MRV offers the Media Cross Connect product line, a modular, digital patch panel that allows users to program a physical-layer connection from any port to any other port.

MRV offers two Metro Ethernet product families. The OptiSwitch OS9000 product line is the industry's first carrier-class Metro Ethernet platform to aggregate Gigabit Ethernet links, provision enhanced Ethernet/IP/MPLS services, and provide WDM long distance transport, MRV asserts. The OptiSwitch 900 line of demarcation devices includes the OS930, the world's first 10-Gigabit Ethernet demarcation device.

For the enterprise, MRV offers the LX Series of console servers.
