Fibre Channel support system

The Intelligent Fiber System/9000 now supports Fibre Channel transmission technology. The system manages the migration to Fibre Channel by identifying and tracking cables, connections, and device connectivity through the fiber-optic infrastructure backbone during and after reconfigurations. It features a fiber-patching capability that marries microprocessor technology to fiber-optic patch panels. When a fiber cable is moved, the system automatically recognizes the change and documents it, allowing data-center managers to trace links and generate work orders to aid technicians through the patch changes at the patch panel. It is an open-channel product that provides interconnect components for Escon, fddi, atm, new fiber cables, and Fibre Channel.
