Huawei used its Global Analyst Conference 2013 as a platform to launch a variety of products, including what it asserts is the first 1-Tbps router line card and 100-Tbps cluster router.

The 1-Tbps router line card ups the capacity of the router chassis to 32 Tbps. It supports both 40 Gigabit Ethernet (40GbE) and 100GbE ports.

Meanwhile, the cluster system, based on Huawei’s NE5000E system, uses a new cluster central chassis (CCC) to function in multiple modes to help carriers select the right cluster modes for their requirements. Huawei's "2+8 cluster" currently provides more than 100 Tbps system throughput.

"Huawei's 1-Tbps router line card and 100-Tbps cluster can meet the requirements for ultra-broadband service deployment and accelerate the industrialization of the high-end route technology,” asserted Gai Gang, president of Huawei's Carrier IP Product Line. “We hope to help carriers build sustainable and efficient networks, overcome the bandwidth challenges brought by cloud applications, and continue to reduce network construction and operation costs."
