Comcast boosts Ethernet networks in Manassas, VA
Comcast Business says it plans to reach more than 400 additional businesses in Manassas, VA, by investing more than $1 million in the expansion of its fiber-based Ethernet network there. The Manassas network can deliver up to 100 Gbps of capacity, and this latest expansion supports advanced services to give small- and medium-sized Comcast Business customers quick access to its network.
The expansion leverages additional miles of new fiber in Manassas to bring scalable, high-performance Ethernet, Internet, and advanced voice services to more businesses and organizations. The Ethernet extensions include both aerial and underground architectures that reach buildouts in key areas south of the Manassas National Battlefield and Route 66, connecting hundreds of customers.
“Access to a high-speed network is key to remaining competitive, attracting new businesses and supporting our residents,” says Manassas Mayor Harry J. Parrish II.
Comcast Business serves businesses and organizations with distributed enterprises that require large amounts of bandwidth, seek to link multiple sites or branch locations, or plan to connect offices to a third-party data center. The company’s network spans more than 153,000 miles.
