Crosslake Fibre adds New York City on-ramps
Crosslake Fibre has installed fiber network on-ramps in New York City. The fiber-optic network services provider now provides connectivity to the 60 Hudson Street and 111 8th Avenue data centers. The on-ramps expand Crosslake Fibre’s reach to enable connectivity to and from New York City as well as major U.S. cities and Toronto and Montreal, Canada.
"The additional PoPs in New York present a tremendous opportunity for Crosslake Fibre as we continue to grow our network reach and bring carrier-grade services to national and international organizations," stated Crosslake Fibre CEO Mike Cunningham. "Crosslake already operates the lowest latency high-capacity network between the Toronto and the New Jersey Liquidity Triangle utilizing our unique subsea cable across Lake Ontario. We are now uniquely positioned to extend that low-latency and diverse connectivity into New York."
Crosslake opened its network between Toronto and the New York/New Jersey metro area in 2019 (see “Crosslake Fibre fiber-optic network from Toronto to New York enters service”). The company also has established links to Chicago (see “Crosslake Fibre extends Velocity Trading Network Platform to Chicago”) and has infrastructure deployments planned for Europe (see “Crosslake Fibre to aim CrossChannel Fibre system across English Channel”). The new on-ramps in New York City connect to the service provider’s diverse metro fiber ring, which Crosslake asserts offers direct interconnects with all major carriers and cloud hyperscalers. It offers low-latency, high-capacity, and diverse connections at speeds of up to 100 Gbps.
