ADVA (FSE: ADV) says it has delivered its FSP 150 broadband platform to UK service provider Quickline to enable residential and enterprise services across remote areas of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Quickline has deployed a combination of 5G wireless and fiber to the premises (FTTP) to deliver ultra-fast broadband to remote locations across the region.
Supported by the Building Digital UK program, Quickline is focused on meeting the needs of remote subscribers in the north of England. Its infrastructure in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire leverages the environmentally hardened ADVA FSP 150-XG400 Series to enable 100-Gbps connectivity as well as distribute the phase and frequency synchronization needed for 5G. Quickline also is using the FSP 150-XG100Pro Series for smaller nodes.
ADVA partner Nomios provided deployment, planning, and design services for the new infrastructure. The company will provide ongoing project management, network management services, as well as 24/7 network monitoring.
“Our mission is to give customers access to gigabit-capable broadband in the hardest-to-reach rural areas of the UK. To do that, we’ve harnessed the most advanced aggregation device and taken an innovative approach to last-mile connectivity. By leveraging the flexibility and power of ADVA’s FSP 150 to link our 5G-based services to PoPs, we can deliver lightning-fast broadband to more rural communities than ever before,” said Sean Royce, CEO of Quickline. ”Working with trusted and proven partners such as ADVA and Nomios with their strong customer-first ethos was also important to us in our decision making.”
