Arelion says it now offers Ethernet virtual private line (EVPL) services of up to 40 Gbps. The company says the new offering delivered via its AS1299 fiber backbone network combines the flexibility and reliability of Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) with the simplicity and security of private Ethernet.
The network services provider says it can supply 20-, 30-, and 40-Gbps Layer 2 point-to-point EVPL services “within weeks, subject to surveys.” As the network leverages 100GbE interfaces, customers can combine such services as IP Transit, Cloud Connect, Dedicated Internet Access, and Internet Exchange (IX) Connect on a single port, thus enabling simpler and more cost-effective management. All Ethernet services are MEF 3.0 certified, Arelion adds.
“At Arelion we are constantly looking at how we can innovate our network technology and push through the boundaries of what customers can expect from carrier services. The availability of 40Gbps Ethernet services across our network keeps us ahead of the needs of our customers, and sets a new standard in the industry for bandwidth, simplicity and cost-effectiveness, building on decades of innovation, such as our 400G ZR trials in 2021,” said Bernd Hoogkamp, Head of Product Management at Arelion.
