Granite State Communications deploys BTI Systems gear in metro fiber-optic network

Granite State Communications (GSC) of New Hampshire has deployed elements of BTI Systems' metro packet-optical networking portfolio, according to the optical transport company (soon to be part of Juniper Networks – see "Juniper Networks to buy BTI Systems"). GSC has deployed the BTI 7000 Series and the BTI proNX Service Manager.

Founded in 1877 as the Chester and Derry Telegraph Co., GSC is one of the oldest independent voice and Internet providers in the United States. The company provides telephone service in the rural communities of Chester, East Deering, Hillsborough Upper Village, Sandown, Washington, Weare, and Windsor. It offers Internet services in Chester, Dunbarton, East Deering, Hillsborough Upper Village, Sandown, Washington, Weare, Windsor, and portions of Bow.
