Lucent Technologies, Murray Hill, NJ, has received a multiyear contract to build a fiber-optic atm network for program management company New Millennium Communications Corp. of Miami, FL. The network will provide frame relay, voice-over-Internet protocol on a managed network basis; data, voice, and video; and long-distance and international services. Lucent will install its 5ess-2000 switches in Los Angeles, CA; New York City; Miami and Orlando, FL; and Dallas, TX, during the first phase of construction. New Millennium plans to deploy about 43 domestic and 8 international service nodes this year, and Lucent will provide network management and surveillance at its reliability center in Aurora, CO.
