UK ISP Zen Internet has installed the FSP 150 from ADVA Optical Networking to improve delivery of Ethernet services and efficiently hand over services to its service provider partners, the systems house says.
“Our customers rely on our network 24/7, so we can’t risk their business or our reputation on infrastructure that has limited capabilities,” said Andrew Saunders, head of product management and marketing at Zen Internet. “That’s why we chose the ADVA FSP 150. It directly meets our challenges and enables us to save resources on backhaul provisioning and resolving network issues before they affect services. Through the creation of 200 new Points of Presence (PoPs), we are extending the availability of our Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) and Optical Ethernet service with superior quality at industry leading prices.”
Zen will use the FSP 150’s integrated Etherjack technology for access to service intelligence and end-to-end monitoring; in partnership with Imtech ICT UK, Zen will ensure high levels of network availability. The service provider expects to be better able to deliver differentiated Carrier Ethernet services while monitoring of the network to guarantee strict service-level agreements (SLAs), ADVA says. Meanwhile, Zen also will be able to provision new services quickly, reducing service delivery times to a matter of days.
“Delivering world class Ethernet services to enterprises requires access and aggregation equipment that is highly reliable, flexible and efficient,” said Robin Abel, director sales UK, ADVA Optical Networking. “Through our partnership with Imtech ICT UK, we’ve optimized Zen Internet’s investment in aggregation at the exchange. The ADVA FSP 150 allows them to standardize on a single access and aggregation device to ensure rapid service delivery that saves resources and enables Zen Internet to focus on their customers.”
