Hargray to bring fiber-optic network to Covington, GA
Regional fiber-optic services provider Hargray has announced plans to expand its fiber-optic network into Covington, GA. Hargray will use the network to deliver a range of business services in Covington, including enhanced data, voice, and video services.
Covington will join Hawkinsville, Hinesville, Lake Oconee, Macon, Perry, Reidsville, Savannah, Statesboro, Valdosta, and Warner Robins as Georgia communities in which Hargray provides services. The company also operates in South Carolina and Alabama. Hargray is in the midst of a significant expansion of its serviceable markets, having announced acquisitions of ComSouth, Dark Fiber Systems, and the Alabama footprint of USA Communications (see “Hargray acquires ComSouth to extend southeast network,”“Hargray announces acquisition of Dark Fiber Systems,” and “Hargray to buy USA Communications' Alabama footprint”).
In Covington, Hargray plans to offer hosted unified communications, metro Ethernet, multi-gigabit symmetrical circuits, and video services to commercial customers. With fiber network construction ongoing, Hargray expects to be able to deliver these services this summer.
"We are thrilled to continue our expansion in Georgia,” commented Chris McCorkendale, Hargray Fiber's senior vice president. “As a leading provider of fast and reliable last-mile fiber broadband services throughout the southeast, we are acutely aware of the demand for advanced communications services. Our expansion into Covington is a reflection of Hargray's continued commitment to making those services more accessible for business leaders."
