Newbridge Networks Ltd. (Kanata, ON, Canada) inked a five-year $100-million contract to supply a turnkey solution for WIND, a new Italian telecommunications consortium consisting of energy distributor ENEL S.p.A. (Italy--51%), Deutsche Telekom (Bonn--24.5%), and France Telecom (Paris--24.5%). Newbridge will supply WIND with a single multi-services platform that includes frame relay, Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM), and Internet protocol internetworking services.
