Menara Networks, an IPG Photonics Company, Tunable "System-in-a-Module" OTN SFP+

Feb. 20, 2019
Based on the company’s proprietary high-speed mixed-signal ASIC, Menara Networks’ OTN SFP+ is the only tunable SFP+ module available with integrated OTN framing and enhanced forward error correction. It is designed to simplify DWDM transmission by interfacing directly with any IP/MPLS/Ethernet switch, offering a zero footprint and over 70% cost and power consumption savings over a chassis-based transponder alternative as well as significant time-to-market advantages.

Judge’s comment: “Extending Menara's portfolio of tunable 10G DWDM transceivers with integrated OTN framing and EFEC, this SFP+ version provides OTN demarcation and reach extension in the most common 10G pluggable module form factor used today. Fitting this amount of functionality into an SFP+ module is an industry first.”
