Modular Photonics On-chip Mode Selective Multiplexer

Modular Photonics’ On-chip Mode Selective Multiplexer (OMPlex) products are based on passive silica chips that increase data transmission rates and reach in legacy public and enterprise optical fiber networks. The plug-and-play products remove data bottlenecks, enabling a 100X increase in data speed, at one-tenth the cost and in one-tenth the time to recable.
The mode-selective multiplexers are based on in-chip integrated tapered mode couplers allowing for one or more single-mode inputs to be converted into the individual LP modes of a few- or multi-mode fiber.

Judge’s comment: “This product can be used in legacy LAN infrastructures in SMBs and enterprises that have large installed-base of MMF. It is a unique way to upgrade the network without having to recable with every upgrade - saving the end-user loads of money.”
