Cisco appoints new VP of Channels & Alliances, EMEA

8 August 2002 -- Cisco Systems has announced the appointment of Edzard J.C. Overbeek to the position of Vice President for Channels & Alliances, EMEA.

8 August 2002 -- Cisco Systems Inc today announced the appointment of Edzard J.C. Overbeek to the position of Vice President for Channels & Alliances in Europe, Middle East and Africa. He will be based in the Netherlands at Cisco's recently opened Amsterdam campus.

In his new role, Overbeek will be responsible for strategy and operations throughout EMEA, providing channel partners with the training, tools and resources to help increase profitability. He will also be part of the global channel leadership team led by Paul Mountford, VP Worldwide Channels.

Robert Lloyd, Cisco President EMEA Operations, said, "This appointment underscores that channel partners are key to Cisco's growth and maintaining its position as network channel leader."

Overbeek, who joined Cisco in June 2000, was previously General
Manager of Cisco Systems Netherlands, where he was responsible for the expansion of the sales and marketing activities of Cisco Systems in the Netherlands, which he achieved by collaborating with European and Dutch ecosystem partners.
